CAdES is a new standard for advanced digital signature by European Directive on a community framework for Electronic Signatures.
CAdES extends the previous standard, CMS. CAdES provides features lacking in CMS. For example, Long term validation that is the ability to prove signature validity after a long period, several years or even decades after it was created.
