About 30 minutes into a print, the printer stopped printing. It froze in one place and when I realised that it had gone awry, there was a large blob of PETG stuck to the nozzle, which I have since removed. The screen was unresponsive at the print page, not responding to me clicking the "pause" and "stop" options. I have turned on and off, both the power outlet and the power switch on the printer. Now when booting up, there is the normal animation of the boot up, but it is stuck on a blank page with the Anycubic Kobra. I bought the printer late last year and I think the firmware is up to date. The numerous previous prints have gone mostly smoothly.

What should I do now? Thanks in advance for all your help. (Apologies for the tag, as I could not find a more suitable tag)

I have several anycubic printers (older generations). A freeze like this is usually caused, in my experience, by either a loose connection or a set of wires going bad. What I mean by this is, with most 3D printers that make movements tethered to a wired connection, the wires will eventually have problems given they are susceptible to repetitive movement stress breaks. Some times, these problems show up only when the cable(s) in question are moved to a specific position. In the case of the anycubic printers I have, about 60 percent have had wiring harness issues. The most common depends on the printer but it could be the heated bed or the hot end because they have thermistors which monitor a heating element. If the temperature range is detected out of normal range, the firmware will halt the printer in place (in many cases). To determine where the issue is requires that you can witness the freeze and determine which (heated bed or hot end) shows a temperature that is not within specifications. If you can catch it, this will be the smoking gun you are looking for. Again, this is my opinion only.

Looks like this is a bug when using Ultimaker Cura as your slicer. Try using PrusaSlicer instead.
