I installed LED lights on my printer last night which went well. I then calibrated the printer as I had it on its side to use hot glue to mount the LED strip.

Now when I print it tries to print forward right (normally in middle) and it is clearly hitting the stops. However it keeps motoring forward and sounds awful. Something is wrong, but I don't know what - Chat GPT wasn't much help either, lol.

Video is here - https://youtube.com/shorts/i7VkckmcAZA?feature=share

Image below is how a perfect circle ended up being printed on the forward right when this normally prints in the middle. It is clearly not working.

Anything you can do to help me work this out as it is my son's printer and I have somehow bust it whilst trying to improve it.

Definite minus dad points :(

Your endstops are not correctly functioning anymore. Generally endstops are powered, or normally connected (NC), if somehow the cable breaks or gets loose, the endstop is instantly triggered, preventing damage.

In this case, either your printer manufacturer has chosen to opt for a normally open connection (NO), I hope these days that this isn't the case as this would hint that the manufacturer doesn't understand electronics and safety. Or, your endstop is continuously being powered and not triggered.

You should check the endstops if they are triggered and cables for shorting out. Preferably use a multimeter to test triggering. You can test this easily, move the head/gantry over to the endstop and test both, not-triggered and triggered. You can also do this through a console, What is a printer console/terminal?, and send G-code M118 which will report the state of the endstops, open or closed. Test for not-triggered and triggered and see if there are changes. If not, replace the cable and/or the endstop.
